After-School Child Care Programe

Shanganagh Community Development Project is delighted with the start of our after school child care programme. At the end of our first term, we had 19 children attending in Shanganagh Park House, ranging in age from 4 years up to 11 years.

The children are collected from Scoil mhuire at 1.30pm or 2.30pm. They are then brought to Shanganagh Park House where they are supervised and supported with their homework. After homework it’s a hot snack in the canteen, then, weather permitting, it’s off to the play-ground.

There is ample time for more play when they return to the rooms and maybe even a DVD on a wet day! Latter, tired, fed and best of all – Homework Free!! their parents collect them and take them home.
This programme costs just €35 per child per week, the programme is not Government subsidised, except for the girls who are employed through FÁS.
